Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Law Researcher position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age Limit: 21 to 30 Years.
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in Law (3-year LLB or 5-year Integrated) OR an LLM from a recognized university.
- Academic Performance: Must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in their qualifying degree.
- Professional Status: The degree must be recognized by the Bar Council of India for enrollment as an Advocate.
- Technical Skills: Sound working knowledge of computer applications, including the retrieval of legal information from various legal search engines and databases.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
The Law Researcher will serve as a core legal assistant to the tribunal, with duties including:
- Detailed reading of case files, preparing case chronologies, and drafting comprehensive notes.
- Identifying core facts, legal issues, and questions of law that need to be addressed during hearings.
- Attending court during regular matters to take notes on facts, arguments, and citations.
- Conducting extensive legal research using case laws, books, and articles to assist the Hon’ble Chairperson in preparing judgments, speeches, and academic papers.
- Preparing brief summaries of cases as directed by the Chairperson.
Important Employment Conditions
Candidates should be aware of the following restrictive covenants tied to this high-access role:
- No Private Practice: As a full-time assignment, the Law Researcher is strictly prohibited from practicing as an advocate or taking up any other employment during the engagement period.
- Post-Engagement Restriction: The Law Researcher attached to DRAT-Delhi will be legally barred from appearing before DRAT-Delhi for a period of three years following the termination of their engagement.
