The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), the apex governmental body responsible for the formulation and administration of rules, regulations, and laws relating to women and child development in India, has opened its portal for its highly sought-after Paid Internship Programme.
This initiative is aimed at offering women qualitative exposure to the Ministry’s mandate, allowing them to undertake pilot projects and micro-studies. Eligibility Criteria
This specific internship drive focuses on grassroots empowerment and representation. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Target Demographic: Applications are strictly invited from women students, scholars, social activists, or teachers.
- Geographical Requirement: Candidates must belong to Non-Tier I cities and rural parts of India.
- Academic/Institutional Affiliation: Applicants must be currently enrolled in or actively associated with a university, academic, or non-academic institution.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 to 40 years of age.
Perks & Allowances
The Ministry provides comprehensive support to ensure accessibility for outstation candidates:
- Monthly Stipend: A lump sum stipend of ₹20,000/- per month.
- Travel Reimbursement: To-and-fro travel costs will be reimbursed (up to Deluxe / AC bus / 3-Tier AC train fares) for joining the programme in Delhi and returning upon completion.
- Accommodation: Willing interns will be provided with a hostel facility on a sharing basis for the duration of their 2-month stay in Delhi.

Eligible women candidates must submit their applications via the official digital portal. Note that a candidate once selected for an internship term shall not be eligible to apply for any subsequent terms.

- Register your profile and verify your email/mobile details.
- Fill out the application form, ensuring you clearly state your institutional affiliation and residential status (confirming your Non-Tier I/rural background).
